Social Security and Medicare

Arizonans count on Social Security for retirement and rely on Medicare for prescription drugs and essential care. After a lifetime of hard work and paying in, these programs allow working people and our families to live and age with dignity and respect.

Republicans in Congress, like Representative Schweikert, would rather cut these hard-earned benefits than protect the seniors, veterans, teachers, health care workers, small business owners, and families they swore to serve. In fact, Schweikert voted a combined twelve times to cut Social Security and Medicare and wants to raise the retirement age.

Arizonans pay into Social Security and Medicare each month. They deserve these hard-earned benefits to be there when they retire.
