Arizona Small Business Owner: Inflation Reduction Act Makes “Owning a Business More Affordable for Me”
Schweikert, Ciscomani Opposed Inflation Reduction Act
PHOENIX — During National Small Business Week, Arizona small business owners credit the Inflation Reduction Act for helping lower costs for them and their customers, despite the fact that Congressman Juan Ciscomani opposed the law and Congressman David Schweikert voted against it.
"Small businesses like mine are the lifeblood of Arizona's economy," said Tucson bakery owner Ali Baxley. "The Inflation Reduction Act has made owning a business more affordable for me and lowered costs for my customers.”
The Inflation Reduction Act provided small business owners tax relief by continuing the expanded premium tax credit for Affordable Care Act health coverage plans, helping small business owners save on health care costs. Schweikert and Ciscomani have also voted for bills this congress that would shield wealthy tax cheats from scrutiny and give tax breaks to major corporations, while also voting to cut small business assistance and raise costs for working families in Arizona.
"Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani have refused to support the Inflation Reduction Act, which provides tax relief to countless small business owners in Arizona and across the country," said Les Braswell with Honest Arizona. "Congressmen Ciscomani and Schweikert need to put Arizona small businesses ahead of corporations and back efforts to expand the Inflation Reduction Act to further lower health care costs and support job growth here in Arizona."
