Arizonans Know Trump's Tariffs Will Hurt Working Families

PHOENIX — Arizonans are reacting to President Trump's decision today to impose 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico—as well as a 10% tariff on imports from China—that will raise the cost of gas, groceries, and everyday goods for Arizonans. President Trump has said that the tariffs will be used to pay for tax breaks for the ultra wealthy and corporations.

Andrea Moreno, Executive Director of Honest Arizona said:

“President Trump's tariffs are a tax on working families, driving up the cost of gas, groceries, and everyday goods while hardworking Arizonans are already struggling with high prices due to inflation—all to cover the price of tax breaks that favor the wealthy and big corporations. We urge Arizona's congressional delegation—including Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani—to oppose these tariffs that hurt the families they represent. Arizonans deserve better—policies that prioritize families, not the pockets of the ultra-rich and corporations.”
