Children’s Books Tells Story of Schweikert, Ciscomani’s Record of Standing with Corporations and Tax Cheats While Threatening Arizonans’ Access To Hard-Earned Benefits
TUCSON — A pair of new children’s books, delivered to the congressional offices in Arizona’s First and Sixth Congressional Districts this week, tell the story of how Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani have betrayed their constituents by voting for deep cuts to critical services and pushing us to the brink of shutting down the government multiple times.
The books, entitled Congressman Juan Ciscomani Goes to Vote and No, Congressman Schweikert!, show how over the past year both congressmen voted to protect tax cheats while opposing measures like the Inflation Reduction Act that lower costs for Arizonans. With the government funding process still ongoing, House Republicans continue to push to include harmful policies after they passed a short-term spending bill yesterday that extended funding deadlines to March 8th and March 22nd.
“It’s time for Schweikert and Ciscomani to start looking out for their constituents and vote against harmful cuts that make it harder for Arizonans to afford food, send their kids to good schools, and access their Medicare and Social Security benefits.” said Andrea Moreno, a mother and the executive director of Honest Arizona.
