Ciscomani & Schweikert Betrayed Their Promise to Arizonans

TUCSON — Honest Arizona Executive Director Andrea Moreno released the following statement after Congressmen Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert broke their promise to Arizonans and voted to approve the Republican budget resolution that will make drastic cuts to Medicaid and other essential services while giving trillions of dollars in tax breaks for billionaires and corporations:

“Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani proved today that floor speeches and letters can be filled with the fanciest words, but they don’t carry the same weight as votes. Despite Ciscomani representing one of the highest Medicaid-population districts in the country and Schweikert calling himself a budget hawk, they both voted for a budget that will gut Medicaid and other essential services and massively increase the national debt, all to give trillions in tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations. Ciscomani and Schweikert broke their promise to Arizonans.”
