ICYMI: Honest Arizona Ads In Congressional Districts Expose Schweikert & Ciscomani’s Votes that Raise Costs for Arizonans and Give Tax Handouts to Corporations
TUCSON — Honest Arizona launched targeted newspaper ads in Arizona's First and Sixth Congressional Districts, underscoring how Congressmen David Schweikert's and Juan Ciscomani's records have voted against the interests of Arizona families.
In Arizona's First Congressional District, the advertisement highlights Congressman Schweikert's vote against the Inflation Reduction Act and its provisions capping insulin pricing and empowering Medicare to negotiate lower drug costs for seniors.
Meanwhile, in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District, the advertisement focuses on Congressman Ciscomani's record of slashing essential services that Arizonans depend on daily. Ciscomani has used his seat on the powerful House Appropriations Committee to vote for extreme cuts to housing assistance, health care, and education while at the same time he's voted to protect wealthy and corporate tax cheats who refuse to pay their fair share.
"Congressman Schweikert's opposition to the Inflation Reduction Act directly impacts the pocketbooks of Arizonans struggling with prescription drug costs, while Congressman Ciscomani's repeated votes to reduce essential services raise significant concerns about his commitment to meeting the needs of his constituents," said Andrea Moreno, Executive Director of Honest Arizona. "Arizonans deserve to know how their members of Congress are voting and we're going to hold them accountable to make the wealthy pay their fair share and keep costs low for working Arizonans."
