NEW: Honest Arizona Billboard Encourages Arizonans To Find Out More About GOP Tax Law, Notes Corporations Aren’t Paying Their Fair Share
PHOENIX — As Congressional Republicans are weighing the extension of the 2017 GOP Tax Law next year that favors the ultra-wealthy and corporations at the expense of working Arizonans, Honest Arizona has a new billboard to inform Arizonans about the law and encourage them to find out more.
Next year, Congress has an opportunity to create a fair tax code where corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share and use that new revenue to invest in child care, make Social Security solvent for the next generation, and protect the Inflation Reduction Act’s provisions that help Arizonans afford private insurance on the ACA Marketplace if they allow the GOP Tax Law to expire.
The billboard sits along one of Phoenix’s busiest thoroughfares at the intersection of 32nd Street and Thomas Road.
“Congress next year will decide whether to keep giving corporations and billionaires massive tax giveaways or to let the GOP Tax Law expire and replace it with a system that is much more fair—one where a school teacher or firefighter isn’t paying higher taxes than Jeff Bezos. Arizonans deserve to learn how they’ll be affected by an extension of these tax giveaways.” said Les Braswell with Honest Arizona.
