ICYMI: Tucson To Benefit from Investments From Law Ciscomani Opposes

PHOENIX — Tucsonans in lower-income communities will now have assistance mitigating the effects of climate change impacts locally, thanks to investments from the Inflation Reduction Act that Congressman Juan Ciscomani opposed.

According to Arizona Public Media, the University of Arizona "will receive at least $10 million from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to help promote community engagement towards a clean energy future...Coalition Director at grassroots network Activate 48, Laura Dent... said the IRA is expected to bring an estimated $4.1 billion of investment in large-scale clean power generation and storage to Arizona by 2030."

Last fall, Congressman Ciscomani said that he opposed the Inflation Reduction Act and its investments in Arizona.

"Whether it's giving tax breaks to big corporations or opposing investments to mitigate climate change, Congressman Ciscomani has consistently been on the wrong side of issues that Arizona families face," Honest Arizona executive director Andrea Moreno said. "It's time for Congressman Ciscomani to recognize the impact that climate change has in Arizona and support investments to move our state from the brink of the climate crisis."
