NEW: Rural Billboard Warns Drivers of Rep. Ciscomani’s Record of Voting Against Health Care Access, Social Security
TUCSON — As southern Arizona residents travel this Thanksgiving weekend, they will be warned as they enter the Sixth Congressional District whose representative, Congressman Juan Ciscomani, voted to cut access to health care, Social Security, and Medicare.
Ciscomani voted earlier this year to place additional restrictions on Medicaid, threatening coverage for up to 21 million Americans. He also voted multiple times to cut access to Social Security and Medicare, which would make it harder for seniors to access their benefits.
The billboard will appear on I-10 E near Benson.
"Congressman Ciscomani says he stands up for Arizonans, but he has repeatedly voted against our interests, especially when it comes to health care," said Andrea Moreno, Executive Director of Honest Arizona. "Arizonans traveling through the Sixth District have a right to know that Ciscomani has voted to cut Medicaid and access to Social Security and Medicare—which could make health care even more expensive and out of reach for his constituents. When Congressman Ciscomani returns to DC after the holiday, he should vote against any funding bill that cuts access to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid.”
