And The Award for Outstanding Service to Big Corporations Goes to... Juan Ciscomani
TUCSON — Honest Arizona today awarded Congressman Juan Ciscomani for his Outstanding Service to Big Corporations.
Since being sworn into office in January, Ciscomani has consistently sided with big corporations and the wealthy, including multiple votes to make it harder for the IRS to go after corporate tax cheats.
The Inflation Reduction Act, which Ciscomani opposed, empowers the IRS to go after wealthy tax cheats and has already allowed the agency to collect $160 million in back taxes. That law also empowered Medicare to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs, but Congressman Ciscomani is part of a group that wants to take away Medicare's negotiating power.
“As a small business owner, I expect one set of rules for all of us, but Congress member Ciscomani wants to give a leg up to big corporations who already have so many advantages,” said Dwight Metzger, owner of a Tucson print shop. “Congressmember Ciscomani: it’s time to give the rest of us a fair shot.”
"Congressman Ciscomani is a proud supporter of big corporations and the wealthy, showering them with tax breaks and allowing them to cheat on their taxes while voting to raise costs on his constituents," said Andrea Moreno, Executive Director of Honest Arizona. "This award is nothing the Congressman should be proud of – it's time for him to start putting Arizonans ahead of corporate interests."
