Honest Arizona Makes Special Christmas Deliveries to Remind Schweikert, Ciscomani of Their Broken Promises to Arizonans
PHOENIX — Honest Arizona today made special Christmas deliveries to the offices of Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani containing letters from their constituents and offering a special reminder to both congressmen of their broken promise to Arizonans.
While Schweikert and Ciscomani pledged to look out for the best interests of their constituents, the pair spent 2023 voting to protect wealthy tax cheats from scrutiny and cut critical programs, which would raise the cost of health care, food, and utilities for Arizonans. They even threatened to default on the economy and shut down the federal government to secure tax breaks for corporations.
For Schweikert, these votes followed his many votes over the past decade to cut Social Security and Medicare.
“Instead of coal this Christmas, Schweikert and Ciscomani got a stern reminder of what their jobs are about: looking out for Arizonans and not favoring those at the very top,” Honest Arizona executive director Andrea Moreno said. “With the new year coming up, Arizonans will continue keeping an eye on their elected leaders to ensure they’re really looking out for Arizona and not corporations and the ultra-wealthy by voting to lower their health care costs and protect their hard-earned benefits.”
